MUSIC

"Timebomb was a song I needed to write to heal my heart.  I wanted to leave it open for interpretation, but for me, it's about dealing with narcissism.

When you are constantly being silenced or face serious repercussions for speaking up, music is the only place you have left to go.

If you dig a little, it touches on the affects of generational trauma and wanting to break the cycle."

TIMEBOMB

IS IT EVER ENOUGH?

"This song is a direct response to the destruction of prime agricultural land, burial grounds, and home to wildlife in my home territory Treaty 8 which will soon be wiped out by the Site C dam.

When the waters run dry, the land burns and the animals disappear, when there is nothing left to steal, it will be too late to ask is it ever enough?"

"I wrote this song while on a song-writing hiatus from my band at the time Rocky Mountain Rebel Music one winter in Moberly Lake. I wasn't used to the quiet or calmness, and I remember feeling this huge wave of sadness approaching, as if the isolation was setting in.

I was sitting on the floor with my guitar looking out from a big bay window overlooking the snow covered lake and it was just then the sun crept up from behind the mountains and warmed my entire body.

It felt as if the ancestors or passed on family members came to remind me I wasn't alone. I felt so loved in that moment and I've carried that strength with me ever since."
